Bell Ace Hardware is a family-owned local hardware store serving Western Lehigh County and Eastern Berks County since 1989. We are an essential business, always open and forever helpful!

BELL ACE HARDWARE is looking to hire additional part time Red Vested Heroes to join our TEAM.

Position Summary: 

The primary responsibility of the Weekend Cashier position is to maintain outstanding customer service, process sales and manage cash register operations, merchandise product, support the store management team, and become an intricate component of our progressive team environment.

Weekly average hours for a part-time weekend cashier is 16 hours. There is also a possibility of Friday hours available.

Essential Duties:

  • Greet and ensure each customer receives amazing service utilizing the S.A.L.E.S. strategy
  • Accurately, efficiently, and quickly process sales and returns
  • Solicit customers to open and understand the benefits of an Ace Rewards card
  • Maintain front end area including customer assistance, merchandise stocking and housekeeping
  • Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
  • Be knowledgeable about the store layout, products, and services
  • Maintain awareness of all sales, promotions, and advertisements
  • Assist with all tasks in the store including such activities as customer service, sales, product placement, receiving of merchandise, processing shipments, store stocking, store cleanliness, housekeeping, and operating equipment
  • Answer phones following prescribed company instructions
  • Attend mandatory store meetings
  • Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards
  • Understand and adhere to all store policies regarding safety, security, and loss prevention
  • Attend in-store training sessions to continually improve job performance, product, and product use knowledge
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by store management

  • Ability to combine amazing customer service with strong sales skills
  • Possessing a vast product knowledge of hardware related products is a plus, but a willingness to learn is required
  • Prior experience in a hardware or retail sales environment is a plus
  • Must have basic computer skills, experience with retail computer systems such as Epicor Eagle is a plus
  • Must be punctual and have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • Must be a solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must maintain a neat professional appearance and maintain appropriate grooming habits

The minimum physical requirements for the essential functions of this position include:

  • Ability to retrieve, handle, and move merchandise which will require bending, squatting, twisting, climbing ladders and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs on a routine basis
  • Ability to provide continual customer service which will require talking, standing, and walking throughout store for up to 4 hours or more at a time
  • Ability to read product labels, dispense product knowledge, and communicate with our customer
  • Ability to utilize cash registers and computer and assemble some products which will require sufficient manual dexterity
