Under the general direction of the Attorney, Assistant Chief Counsel (AACC) in the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Department of Industrial Relation’s (DIR), the Staff Services Manager I, (SSM I) oversees and supervises the work of a group of analysts assigned to respond to the Public Records Act (PRA) requests and ensures DOSH responds to such requests in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the Government Code. The SSM I serves as a subject matter expert in interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations on the most complex PRA related matters, oversees the development of PRA training programs, and continually evaluates the performance of the unit.

This is a full time position headquartered in our legal offices located in the Cal/OSHA Sacramento District Office, on the 4th floor, Howe Avenue, Sacramento, California. The office is in a high rise building with both artificial and natural lighting in a cubicle environment. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary to accomplish their duties. Some travel may be required to attend meetings and training.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
