Title: GCP Data Consultant

Location: Remote, US-based only (may involve travel 1-2 times a quarter)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Google Data Cloud Consultant with deep expertise in Dataplex and the Dataplex Universal Catalog. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of GCP's data services, architecture, governance, and integration patterns. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing data ecosystems for our clients, ensuring robust data management, discoverability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment, design, and implementation of end-to-end data ecosystems on GCP.
• Advise clients on best practices for data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data security within GCP.
• Architect and deploy scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh solutions leveraging GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, and Looker.
• Implement and optimize Dataplex for unified data management, including data discovery, classification, lineage, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and manage the Dataplex Universal Catalog to enable seamless data asset discovery and metadata management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and deliver technical documentation, best practice guidelines, and knowledge transfer sessions for client teams.
• Stay current with GCP data ecosystem advancements and provide thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or cloud consulting, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven expertise in Dataplex, including hands-on experience with Dataplex Universal Catalog, data governance, and metadata management.
• Strong knowledge of GCP data services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, Cloud Storage, Looker, etc.
• Experience with data security, access controls, and compliance frameworks within cloud environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data mesh architectures and multi-cloud data management.
• Familiarity with data cataloging tools beyond Dataplex (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.) is a plus.
